Bucas Therapy Cooler Big Neck
Use this size guide to find the correct rug size for your horse. Bucas sizes rugs by length, in centimetres. Each size also has a UK feet-and-inches reference and a US inches reference.
How to measure your horse for a Bucas rug:
- Body length (A to B): measure from the centre of the chest, over the highest point of the shoulder, to the rear of the hind leg. Bucas uses this single measurement to set the rug size.
Bucas measures to the rear of the hind leg. Other UK rug brands often measure to the point of the buttock instead. These two methods can give different readings on the same horse, so always use a horse's Bucas measurement when choosing a Bucas rug. Do not reuse a size or measurement taken for another brand's rug.

This size chart is a guideline. Broader, deeper built, or heavily muscled horses may need a larger size.
The Bucas Therapy Cooler helps to prevent numerous problems and also helps in the treatment of a vast array of ailments. The Therapy material is made from an extremely fine, stainless steel mesh so it reflects the magnetic fields created inside the body. This in turn stimulates blood circulation and oxygen flow in the horse’s body and back, which heals and reduces both swelling and inflammation and promotes faster healing. It can be left on your horse for 24 hours, 7 days a week if necessary as it is NOT a magnetic rug, but it is advised to slowly increase and monitor the use of the Bucas Therapy rug when first used.
These therapeutic rugs are the ideal choice for helping horses including those with back problems or who are a little slow to warm up when riding. It also has been known to accelerate the recovery process of some aliments, and all of this in a natural environment. The Stay-dry lining in the rug helps wick the moisture from our horse so it can be used if the horse is a little sweaty or washed as the Stay-dry properties will help dry the horse quicker. The Therapy properties cannot be washed out, meaning your Therapy rug can be washed like a normal cooler!
The therapy rug has attachment points at the neck and rear D-rings, so the rug can be used and secured under another Bucas rug so your horse can rest and recoup relaxing in their stable or while turned out in their turnout rug.
