The PS of Sweden Helsinki Pony Bridle is a bridle for veterinary inspections, clinic visits, meetings and other places where a bit is required, for riders who want a stylish but practical bridle. It is a noseband-free design, equipped with PS of Sweden's popular headpiece.
The headpiece has an air channel over the poll and the highest part of the neck, giving maximum freedom to the neck's sensitive nerve pathways, muscle attachments and ligaments. The edges are built-up and softly padded, with anatomical shaping around the ears, and a round cut-out at the top distributes pressure evenly over the headpiece. A stop on the headpiece prevents the browband from sliding down.
The cheekpieces are designed to reduce pressure from the neck through PS of Sweden's elastic Cradles™. A Cradle is an extra elastic band that the bit should rest on, located partly in the cheekpieces at the bit and on PS of Sweden reins. The idea is that they act elastically and give the horse more comfort by allowing the bit to spring, which should relieve the teeth and jaws of static pressure. Many believe that horses prefer this type of bridle and that it can be gentler and more horse-friendly than traditional bridles and reins. The Cradles are interchangeable, so it is easy to disconnect them according to your preference.
The browband is U-shaped to counteract pressure on the horse's forehead and eye. A rubberized inside, called anti-slip, should help keep it in place, and the Click-It™ function makes it easy to remove and change the browband when needed, even when the horse is wearing the bridle. Reins and bit are sold separately.
